SKN | International IPO Market Slips 1% as Jio Platforms Gains 28% Following Record Indian Listing

Date:

International IPO markets recorded a relatively subdued week, with the International IPO Index declining 1.0%, while the ACWX ex-US ETF edged down 0.1%. Among individual listings, Swedish security services company Verisure extended its winning streak, rising 6.3% to lead the international IPO market for the third consecutive week. Meanwhile, Istanbul-listed factoring services provider Destek Faktoring continued to struggle, falling another 34.3%.

The contrasting performances highlighted uneven investor sentiment across international listings, with substantial differences between individual companies and markets.

Major Development: Jio Platforms Delivers Strong Debut

The week’s most significant development was the public market debut of Indian mobile telecommunications giant Jio Platforms, which raised approximately $3.2 billion in the country’s largest-ever IPO.

Despite broader weakness in India’s stock market during 2026 and the generally modest or negative first-day performances of many Indian IPOs valued above $1 billion, Jio Platforms attracted a record bookbuild. Its shares finished the week 28% above the IPO price, making it the standout large offering of the period.

The performance demonstrated a notable exception to the more cautious trading environment surrounding large Indian listings.

Latest Listings Show Mixed Performance

Other newly listed companies delivered weaker results. Hong Kong-listed PCB manufacturer Dongshan Precision, which raised approximately $1.3 billion, declined 10%. In London, tungsten miner developer Abenojar Tungsten fell 7% following its approximately $170 million offering.

India-listed hospital operator Paras Healthcare performed more positively, gaining 6% after raising approximately $150 million. Singapore-listed semiconductor components spin-off Mi Material, which raised around $110 million, dropped 16%.

These performances reflected the mixed reception facing new listings across different industries and international exchanges.

The Week Ahead: Banque du Caire and EAAA India Alternatives

Two offerings valued above $100 million were scheduled for the coming week, with additional transactions potentially joining the calendar.

In Egypt, state-owned bank Banque du Caire is preparing for a roughly $660 million listing. The transaction is expected to become the country’s largest IPO in more than 20 years.

In India, alternative asset manager EAAA India Alternatives is scheduled to list following an offering valued at approximately $130 million.

Both transactions will provide further indications of investor appetite for sizeable listings in emerging markets.

IPO Pipeline: Technology, Healthcare, Energy and Real Estate

Hong Kong’s upcoming IPO pipeline expanded with several companies launching offerings during the week. These included GPU designer Denglin, targeting approximately $200 million; controller chip designer HOSIN Electronics, targeting $150 million; semiconductor packaging manufacturer JSSI Semi, targeting $120 million; and small-molecule biotechnology company Hemay, also targeting approximately $120 million.

Another potentially significant transaction involves global agrochemical company Syngenta, which is reportedly preparing for a Hong Kong IPO that could raise as much as $10 billion.

Elsewhere, Malaysia’s pharmacy chain Big Caring launched an approximately $500 million offering, while hospital operator Asia OneHealthcare filed its IPO papers. In the United Arab Emirates, real estate operator Dubai Investment Parks set terms for an approximately $530 million listing, expected to become Dubai’s first IPO of 2026.

Morocco also saw activity as pharmaceutical producer Laprophan launched a Casablanca IPO targeting approximately $230 million. In India, brewery Carlsberg India filed its IPO papers, while renewable energy company Sembcorp Green Infra held investor meetings.

Closing Insights

International IPO performance remained uneven, with the benchmark index declining despite a strong debut from Jio Platforms. The contrast between Jio’s 28% weekly gain and the declines recorded by several other recent listings illustrates the importance of company-specific demand and investor reception in determining post-IPO performance.

The coming week will bring further activity across banking and alternative asset management, while the broader pipeline points to continued fundraising ambitions in technology, healthcare, energy, and real estate. Syngenta’s reported potential $10 billion Hong Kong listing could become a particularly important transaction to watch if its plans advance.
