SKN | TurboGen Completes Nasdaq Direct Listing as Israeli Microturbine Developer Enters US Market

Date:

TurboGen Completes Nasdaq Direct Listing

TurboGen, an Israeli developer of microturbine-based combined heat and power systems, has announced the completion of its direct listing on the Nasdaq. The company stated on Monday, August 31, that its shares would begin trading under the symbol TRBG, although no shares actually traded during the announced listing session.

The Nasdaq listing gives TurboGen a US market presence while its shares remain listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange under the symbol TURB.

Microturbines Designed for Distributed Energy

TurboGen develops combined heat and power (CHP) systems that use multifuel microturbines to generate electricity and heat at the point of use. Its primary product under development is the TG-40 microturbine, which is designed to generate up to 40 kilowatts of electricity and 60 kilowatts of heat.

The technology is intended for distributed energy applications, allowing electricity and heat generation to take place closer to the point of consumption rather than relying entirely on centralized power infrastructure.

Company Remains in Development Stage

Despite completing its Nasdaq listing, TurboGen remains focused primarily on research and development. The company plans to transition toward manufacturing and installation once development of its technology is completed.

TurboGen is also exploring additional CHP technologies, including smaller and larger turbine models designed for mobile and building installations. The company is currently in discussions with potential partners in the United States and Europe regarding these additional applications.

As of the prospectus date, TurboGen has only demonstration-level production capacity and has not generated revenue. This makes the Nasdaq listing an important capital-markets milestone, but not evidence of an established commercial operation.

US Listing Adds Visibility

The Nasdaq listing could provide TurboGen with greater visibility among US investors and potentially support its efforts to develop partnerships in the American market. The company’s discussions with potential US and European partners could become increasingly important as it seeks to move from technology development toward commercial manufacturing and installation.

However, the lack of revenue and the company’s continued development-stage status mean investors will need to focus heavily on technological progress, commercialization timelines and the company’s ability to establish a viable manufacturing and sales operation.

No Nasdaq Trading on First Announced Day

TurboGen’s shares are set to trade on Nasdaq under the symbol TRBG, while the company continues to maintain its existing Tel Aviv listing under TURB. Although the company announced that trading would begin on August 31, no shares traded during that session.

The unusual start highlights that completing a direct listing does not necessarily translate immediately into active market trading. Going forward, investor attention will likely center on when meaningful Nasdaq trading begins and whether TurboGen can convert its microturbine technology into a commercially viable business.

For now, the Nasdaq listing represents a new chapter for TurboGen, but the central question remains whether its TG-40 technology and broader CHP pipeline can successfully move from development and demonstration into revenue-generating commercial operations.
